The Thirsty Scholar Hotel - Penryn

Everything is second to none here, had a very nice stay for one or two nights. Its staff are very attentive and helpful. The restaurant is astonishing and well priced. We would come here again certainly.

The place was quaint, we loved it.

The hotel had a central location in lovely surroundings.

Unfortunately, there was no parking.

The pub's decor looks outdated, with cobwebs in light fixtures and noise from the kitchen interrupting peace!!! Parking options are inconvenient, with restricted areas making it a real hassle to find a spot nearby!!!

The staff were friendly and cute. My room was cozy and had a lovely view. Breakfast featured fresh, local ingredients which were delicious. The atmosphere was warm and inviting 😊

Comfortable stay with excellent breakfast

The warm atmosphere and friendly staff, and the breakfast with fresh local ingredients was a highlight that I thoroughly enjoyed. Parking can be a bit tricky since the nearest lot is a short walk away.

I had a cozy stay with a lovely view of the estuary! 🌅 The friendly staff made my mornings brighter with an amazing breakfast. The only downside was the noisy windows that rattled from the wind.

The room was cozy with a lovely hot shower and all the essentials like free toiletries, kettle, and tv. The breakfast was fantastic, with fresh local ingredients. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Plus, the location is perfect for exploring south Cornwall. Just a heads up, the stairs can be steep!

The location was excellent, albeit tricky due to parking restrictions and roadworks. Our double room was huge and comfortable. The friendly staff, and the cooked-to-order breakfast was a lovely start to our day.

Had a warm welcome on arrival and the staff were super friendly. My room was so cozy with a lovely view of the estuary. The bed was comfy and the shower in the bathroom was great. Breakfast was amazin, really fresh local ingredients!

The sash windows rattled all night from the wind, which disturbed my sleep. Parking was a bit of a hassle since the car park was a 5-min walk away.

We enjoyed the cozy rooms, had some great pints at the bar, and the breakfast was solid. We checked out Enys Gardens and Castle Beach, both are must-sees. Just a heads up, parking can be tricky if you arrive late, so plan accordingly!

One downside was the cleanliness issues. There was some mildew on the window which could've been avoided.

The Scholar provides a comfortable stay with cozy rooms and a very cute atmosphere. The staff, especially Adele, were friendly and helpful, assisting with my luggage and providing details for local parking options. The breakfast featured fresh local ingredients and was delicious. It's a well-maintained hotel and clearly shows the owners' investment in improving guest experiences.

The service was great throughout our three-night stay. The breakfast provided each morning was very good, with a variety of options that catered to different tastes.

The parking situation was a bit challenging if you opted to use your car for travel.
